Again, my brother came through for me, looking totally defeated as a dad on a long road trip often does. Seriously, This one was straightforward, but difficult. Anytime you have several figures in the same painting the composition and drawing gets a lot more complex. The mother is the real mother of my young model, which was really important for this particular picture. I can't imagine a youngster looking this natural with anyone other than their real mom.
